Humal wishes to unite three important directions of food and drink culture – restaurant, bar and pub. Our core idea in the selection of food and drinks is based on historical as well as loved pub culture, bringing it directly to the visitors of Humal with a modern touch.
Rules that we are sticking are the use of fresh ingredients, its local sourcing and getting maximum out of it – this means that we try to use all byproducts in our menu. This kind of approach gives us the possibility and freedom to take pride in what we do!
You can host your memorable event at Humal. We are ready to take in smaller private events as well as bigger ones. Our rooms allow us to book you only our second floor or terrace and for bigger events the entire restaurant. Our team has the knowledge and experience to host events – this means also technical, creative and event organising solutions.
Together is always better! With a joy, we can say our best friends are restaurants Kampus and Pompei located in Tartu. With them we have grown up and become better on daily basis. We talk all the time to be excel the perfection and stated that our biggest goal together is to create a cozy experience in the heart of Tartu for all the guests.
Pallas Hotel together with restaurant Humal is located in the centre of Tartu in the same building. Pallas is an art hotel, which went through a complete renovation in 2020 and which interior design is inspired from the artists, who have studied in Pallas Art School. Ville Lausmäe (VLS Interior Architecture) is the leading interior architect for both Pallas and Humal. Staying in hotel Pallas, you can also enjoy breakfast at restaurant Humal.
Humal as a name has been long part of Tartu’s food and drink culture and has been in Tartu to stay. Our idea was born because we want to offer our guests the freedom to be themselves. Just exactly freedom is a keyword, that describes the essence of Humal. You can see and feel this in the selection of food and drinks, also notice it in the architecture, brand name and team, who on daily basis execute this idea.
